TOP TECH TRENDS FOR JOURNALISTS

By Benét J. Wilson, DJTF co-chair, Online Managing Editor-Business Aviation, Aviation Week Group

Amy Webb of Webbmedia presented her 10 Tech Trends at last week’s National Association of Black Journalists convention. She outlined 10 trends that will make a big impact in the coming year, explained how and why they matter to and for journalists and then showed practical use cases…often applying the technologies to an audience member during her talk. Enjoy!!

I first learned about the Livescribe pen from @MarioArmstrong, who was a panelist at my NABJ #BrandYou workshop.  He did a demonstration of Livescrbe pen at NABJ’s Watergate II conference back in November 2008. It was cool then, and even cooler now!
@webbmedia suggests reporters use live scribe pen to take digital notes, both audio and text. #techtrends #NABJ11

I joined Google+ about a month ago and I’m still playing with it.  I did use it to live blog the NABJ annual board meeting on Aug. 2, and the reaction to it seemed to be pretty good.  Amy did a great job of explaining why Google unveiled + even after the failure of Wave and Buzz.

Google+ is all about money and ads, says @webbmedia in #techtrends #NABJ11 workshop. This thing rocks! Already learned much about Google+!
