  • The McCormack Foundation is holding its “2009 New Media Women Entrepreneurs Summit” Nov. 9 in Washington, D.C.  Topics include Covering Communities with Start-up Hyperlocal Sites, Training Citizen Journalists and What Women News Consumers and Creators Want.
  • The Virginia Press Association is holding an Online News Workshop Nov. 12 at its headquarters in Glen Allen.  Tracks include  “microlocal” sites, paid content, online election coverage, social media in the newsroom and data aggregation.
  • The Online News Association is holding it’s “Beyond Bootcamp Multimedia Workshop” Jan. 9-16 at the University of Miami.  Courses include programming for multimedia journalism, video storytelling, producing slide shows and social media tools for journalists.
  • South by Southwest (SXSW) is holding its 2010 Interactive conference in Austin, Texas, March 12-16.  Topics include Black Blogging Rock Stars, Evolution of Online Video and The Future of Journalism is Visual.
